Sustainability & Corporate responsibility
One Creation, Different Paths
We Chose the One That’s Better for the Planet and Humanity
At SIYOMICRO, sustainability is at the core of how we innovate and operate. We leverage advanced biotechnology to develop next-generation ingredients and solutions that significantly reduce environmental impact across the value chain. By harnessing the power of bio-synthesis and precision fermentation, we replace resource-intensive chemical processes with cleaner, more efficient biological pathways.
Through these technologies, we aim to lower carbon emissions, minimize energy consumption, and reduce reliance on non-renewable resources. Our approach also enables more responsible use of raw materials while improving production efficiency and scalability. By integrating science, sustainability, and industrial application, SIYOMICRO is committed to building a greener manufacturing model—one that supports both long-term industry growth and a healthier planet for future generations.

From Bean to Bio: Rethinking the Future of Vanillin
Global Vanillin Demand vs. Natural Supply
Plant Extract Natural vanilla Can’t Meet the World’s Appetite
- Global demand: ~20,000 tons/year
- Natural vanilla extract: ~200 tons/year
Agricultural Limitations
Traditional vanillin cultivation requires vast land resources. To obtain 1 kg of vanillin, roughly 500–1,000 kg of dried vanilla beans are needed. Producing 1 ton of pure vanillin therefore requires about 500 tons of beans, making supply heavily dependent on agricultural output.
Even high-yield plantations produce only about 500–700 kg of dried beans per hectare each year. As a result, generating 1 ton of vanillin can occupy around 100 hectares of farmland—roughly equivalent to the area of 140 football fields.
Faster Vanillin
Time constraints make natural vanilla a slow and unpredictable source for global production. Traditional plantations may take a full year or more to produce enough beans to extract just 1 ton of vanillin, making supply highly dependent on climate, harvest cycles, and agricultural limitations.
Through biological fermentation, we transform raw materials into vanillin in just days to weeks. This approach delivers a faster, more efficient, and scalable solution while ensuring consistent quality and reliable supply for global flavor and fragrance industries.
Lower Carbon Impact
Bio-fermentation drastically lowers carbon emissions, proving it is a significantly greener alternative for vanillin production. Compared with conventional manufacturing methods, biotechnology enables a cleaner and more resource-efficient pathway for producing high-quality ingredients at industrial scale.
Traditional petrochemical (lignin-based) production generates baseline CO₂ emissions of 100%. In contrast, our bio-fermentation process reduces emissions by approximately 90%, producing only around 10% of the CO₂ while delivering a more sustainable and future-ready supply of vanillin.
SMETA Audit
Violations of human rights in any form are unacceptable.
As a manufacturing company supplying high-quality ingredients to global leaders, SiyoMicro is committed to ethical practices across our operations. By maintaining transparency, adhering to rigorous standards, and completing Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audits (SMETA), we aim to be a positive influence in the supply chain—ensuring that every ingredient we provide is sourced and produced responsibly.
